Inventory: Creating Products
Create a New Product
The First thing you will need to do after navigating to the Products Page, on the left bottom of the screen click on +Add New
Once you have clicked on Add new, the Product Details Screen will Appear. For a more detailed explanation of the fields read through the Field Definitions section below
Note
Product Code, Description, Packing Class, and Item Category 1 are the only Mandatory fields, but filling out as much of it as you can is ideal, as this will prevent any errors from occurring during the pick n pack and inbound process'.
Once you have filled in all of the fields click next, this will bring you to the product screen which shows the dimensions of the product.
Dimensions
What is the Dimension Screen?
In order to ensure a fast and efficient pick/pack and receipting process, product dimensions are vital to be correct. These dimensions are the values of the product size, such as 1m x 1m x 1m (Length, Width, Height). These values determine which packaging sizes will be used, OH&S requirements around weight lift guidelines, as well as the storage location and capacity.
Dimensions
After next has been selected, you will be presented with the screen below. This is where we will enter in all of the dimensional details around a product. Including but not limited to Length, Width, Height and Weight. For a detailed explanation of each of this fields and their meaning please check out the Field Definitions Section at the end of this page.
Note
- Weight is required in Kilograms
- Length, Width, and Height are required in Metres
Multiple Dimensions
Occasionally you may have products that require multiple different dimensions to be stored. For example you have a Product which is a normally sold individually, but on occasion an entire box of the product may be sold and is available for eStore Logistics to pick and pack the box. This would required a product to have dimensions of the individual product, as well as the dimension of a box of the product. This can be achieved by clicking on the +Add new button and selecting a different Unit of Measure
Cross References
What is a Cross Reference and why do we need it?
There are many scenarios in which a Product may require multiple Barcodes. For Example we have a barcode for the Each, as well as a barcode For the Inner Pack, or maybe your supplier has changed and they have changed the barcode for the product at the same time. Cross Reference is what allows eStore Logistics to manage 1 or many barcodes on a product. In practice this ensures, that when for example the order requires a large QTY of a product, we can scan the Inner Pack, which will tell the system that the QTY of the Inner Pack have been Picked & Packed for the order.
Adding and Removing Cross References
After you have clicked next from the dimensions screen the next screen that you will be presented with is the Cross Reference Screen. Here your are required to enter in the different barcodes for the product. If more then one barcode is required you are able to click on the +Add New button to add additional rows, and enter additional values. Additionally if at any time you wish to remove a Cross Reference, you can do so by click the trash can at the right hand side of the row.
Submitting a Product
After you have completed filling out the form, click on submit at the bottom of the screen
Warning
Once a Product is created, through Express this product cannot be deleted and you cannot change the product code, you will need to contact your customer service representative to initiate a delete.
If you wish to cancel, and not submit, click on cancel on the bottom left of the screen

By clicking cancel, the form will be lost, and you will need to start again if you change your mind
